Euthanasia
The definition of “Euthanasia”: the act or practice of painlessly ending the life of an animal that has a terminal illness, injury or incurable condition that is deemed terminal and untreatable which results in poor quality of life or suffering, by giving a lethal drug.
The idea of having an animal euthanized is a very heart-wrenching one. Here at IAAA, we believe in quality of life. If an animal is terminally ill and suffering, we will humanly euthanize, by a licensed veterinarian, using a method which is painless to the unfortunate animal. IAAA does realize there are other certain circumstances when an animal must be euthanized. Severe aggression, which cannot be corrected, is another. Under our care, NO animal will be allowed to suffer!
Here at IAAA, we will treat any animal which is deemed curable. We will NOT euthanize for lack of space or the age of the animal.
Our goal is to medically treat, spay and neuter, socialize and adopt the animals that come through our door. Our dream is that one day there will be no need to. We need your help to promote spay and neutering. Only through and advocacy and education can we do this.
